Close up of the batik and chain stitch embroidery decoration on the bottom of Big Flower Miao girls' skirts. The fabric has been waxed on both sides with all the white areas covered in wax resist. This has been very well done as the white is very pure and there is very little 'cracking' visible on the plain white hemp or ramie fabric.
