Laos

I have not yet visited Laos - although I hope to be able to do so in the not too distant future - but I have received via this website several enquiries about the country and its textiles including quite a long running query running on the forum. I thought that it might be helpful for all of us if I put together a page linking to various information which has been gathered so far. I would also very much welcome contributions from visitors to this website and invite them to share their knowledge either by contacting me or via the forum links.

bibliography Details of some books from my collection which include Laos textile information. I was amazed to find how much information I had in my library when I put together this list - and have enjoyed an a good immersion course in the literature!
shops Access a list of shops in Laos selling textiles. Contribute your own experience via comments or the forum to keep the list a current resource for travellers.
