In the Jul-August 2003 edition (Vol 33 No 4) of the 'Arts of Asia' there is an informative article (pages 124-134) on 'The Textiles of the Northern Chin' by David W Fraser and Barbara G Fraser. The paper covers groups 'ranging from various Kuki groups in southern Manipur south to the Zotung of Haka township and environs and from Kalemyo, the gateway town just east of Chin State, to Mizoram in the west'. There are 31 very good quality photos of textiles (in colour) and 3 black and white photos (1910, 1925 and 1950) of textiles being worn. The paper is keenly researched and also includes detailed comments on the weaving of the textiles.

This edition is currently available in Asia (I purchased in Singapore) and also via the web The back issues section of the magazine on the web has some very good summaries of contents of each issue. I have decided to subscribe to the magazine as it seems, reasonably consistently, to have quite a few textile articles and excellent quality printing/photo reproduction.
