It is obviously a Persian carpet, but I can't suggest a provenience: one of the major producing areas, the cities.
Any established rug dealer could help identify that; I am only a layman with an interest in rugs.
It appears to be very well made, a medallion carpet with elements of classical designs, apparently completely symetrical
with the typical border consisting of a broad band of elements flanked by smaller bands.
The carpet apppears to be in good condition and the condition of the fringes suggests it was made in the latter half of the 20th century or later.
There are dealers who may like to mention "all natural dyes", but that is extremely unlikely and could raise questions about other "selling points"
proferred.
I hope that helps a little, but remember, I am just an interested layman.
