Good morning,

People who are already visiting the forum for some time may know that I am crazy about traditional children clothing. In the last couple of years my collection has extended to more that 400 pieces. At the moment I am working on a book I want to publish with the title 'The Magic in children clothing!'
It should be ready end 2012. At that time we are planning a exhibition of my collection.
For the purpose of the book and the exhibition I am looking for pictures from children wearing the traditional clothing. I think that textiles come a life when they are worn by a human being. I already have gathered quite some pictures during trips I was able to make, but there are many places I didn’t visit yet. Now I want to pose the question: are they people who have pictures from children wearing the traditional clothing, which I would be able to use in the book and in the exhibition. Of course the name of the photographer would be mentioned.
Hope to hear from you!!! Kind regards from Valkenburg (in the south of Holland)

Monique Derwig

Hi Monique,

This is not a serious response to your request for pictures of children wearing traditional clothing, but I couldn't resist:
http://www.organic-baby-resource.com/cloth-diapers.html

Years - decades - ago, a Norwegian relative told about her surprise at seeing the neighbor raising the national flag without it being a holiday, birthday or family anniversary. The neighbor explained that it was the first time in 14 years that she hadn't had diapers out to dry.

Hope you get lots of more appropriate pictures.

Larry

Hi Monique,

I took a few pictures of children in traditional clothing when I went to the Tinkuy de Tejedores in Peru last year. You can see then on my Flickr page. Here are the links....

Good morning Laverne,

Thank you ever so much for sending me these pictures. Although I have some pictures (analoge) from my own trip to Peru, I would love to be able to use these pictures in my book.
Could you send the large files to me: (I will email the address to you separately) Of course I will mention your name and make sure that I also mention your weblog. I had a short glimpse on it and it is beautiful!!!!!!! I admire the hands that can make such beautiful clothing.
I will surely come back to you when I have read more on the website. Thank you again for sharing !!!!!!
This is the great thing of the tribal textile forum. Thank you Pamela
