A very special, multimedia exhibition about the traditional music from the Golden Triangle, where Laos, Thailand and Myanmar converge, is now on at the Jim Thompson House Gallery in Bangkok. It showcases the collection, documentation and research of Victoria Vorreiter, a classically-trained musician, and friend. For textile enthusiasts there are wonderful examples of clothing for each of the six hill tribes included: Karen, Hmong, Mien, Akha, Lahu and Lisu. Video stations show scenes from ceremonies as well as village life, and one can see the clothing in context, which is something we rarely get to see. Also included are musical instruments, of course.

A book, CD and still photos are available at the gallery. However, I am also offering them if you contact me via pm here or my website.

The exhibition will close 23 July, 2009.
