A couple of new books you may be interested in:
"Hornbill and Dragon" Bernard Sellato, Elf Aquitaine Indonesie 1989.
In view of all the recent Borneo posts, (The textiles are quite magnificent!)
I feel this book will be of great interest to members. It shows textiles, woodcarvings, baskets, various other items and recent photos of ceremonies together with photos of women wearing the extraordinary ear ornaments which abound in Borneo. (some of these remind me of the ear pendants seen in the reliefs from Angkor).
"Undiscovered China" Catherine Boutzat and Philippe Fatin 2004
This is a magnificent account of Guizhou and its peoples, mainly Miao and
Dong and is illustrated with wonderful photos in colour and black and white. Those in colour almost seem to sparkle with beautiful blues, greens, pinks. Most show costume being worn and also the dramatic landscapes of this region. It also has an extensive text.
It should be reasonably easy to find as it is new out.
Both these books should be loaded onto my website by this evening
