This book "Sea Images: Fantastic Creatures and Mythical Creatures" (2002), contains the proceedings of a conference on sea creatures sponsored by CETMA.

We didn't attend: all the papers in this publication are in French (including one co-authored by Chris and Jacques on marine creatures in Thailand.)

Except one, mine, which blessedly was not translated. "The Marginality of Traditional Symbology: The Frog and the Naga in Textiles of the Tai World" can be found on pps. 289-295.

For those who can read French, there are any number of fascinating articles on sea creatures, including half-fish and half-humans, which cast an unusual light on many textile motifs around the world.
