I have a collection of baby hats from China and am now looking for this out-of-print book:

Stories of Chinese Children's Hats: Symbolism and Folklore

by Christi Lan Lin

I have her book on Bonding Via Baby Carriers and want to order her new book on Baby Bibs.

Any idea for sources?

Thanks,
Carol

Hi Carol-
I've been wanting that book too, but haven't done anything about it yet. My first effort would be to go to the source: write the author in care of her business Les Enphants (sic); the address and information is in the back of the baby carrier book. If that doesn't work, try online and even do a request with Amazon etc. When you do find it, let us know and we'll make you our official Chinese baby hat attributor. There's much work to be done in that field.

Good luck!

I had a (postive) response in May 2004 from the email at the back of the book - lin@uindy.edu - when I wanted to post a photo from 'Bonding via Baby Carriers' on the forum. I also have a more personal email address (I think) for Phylis Lan Lin to which the response to me was copied if the email address in the book is no longer current which I could give you to try. Let me know.

I hope that you have success. I think that there are a few of us who would be keen to get a copy if there is a hidden store!

Good luck!

I had already e-mailed Dr. Phylis Lan Lin and she said the book was not available. She did say the bib book would be out in May. Amazon, E-bay and Yahoo did not have any.

Thanks for your responses. I'll let you know if I find a source.

Carol.

I note the last post on this topic is fairly old but it could be worth noting that there is a bookstore in Chicago which has a sensational inventory of books on all subjects Asian.

I have bought from them online for some years but recently visited in person. The experience was simply superb.

There website is excellent; http://www.paragonbook.com/ Really nice people as well.

They colour photocopied a couple of dustjackets I was missing.

Cheers.Greg.
