I just thought that I would share with you what to me is a stunning photo of indigo robes worn by an old Kel Djanti Tuareg woman in the Sahara which I found on the Horniman Museum (Forest Hill, south-east London) website when I was checking the address.

To me the sheen of the polished indigo is scrumptious and just what one aims for in photographing tribal textiles, especially being worn. ... vent_id=87

I am going to add the photo as an attachment as well as giving the link so we can retain it when it moves off the Horniman Museum site. For anyone local, have a look at the link as it refers to a current exhibition and a related talk in Jan 04.

all the best,
