I have just received an email from the Textile Society of Hong Kong with information on an invitation to a seminar to be held next month in Siem Reap organized by the Institute for Khmer Traditional Textile in collaboration with the Center for Khmer Studies.

‘HOL’, THE ART OF CAMBODIAN TEXTILE, A BLENDING OF TWO ESTHETICS: THE KHMER & CHAM SENSES.

Vat Damnak, Siem Reap, December 12–13, 2003

Dear Sir / Madam,

You are cordially invited to attend a seminar organized by the Institute for Khmer Traditional Textiles in collaboration with The Center for Khmer Traditional Textiles in collaboration with The Center for Khmer Studies, entitled ''Hol' The Art of Cambodian Textile', to take place at the CKS Conference Hall at Wat Damnak in Siem Reap on December 12-13, 2003.

The purpose of this seminar is to introduce the importance of Cambodian textile tradition and its broad history to the Cambodian and international public.

Representatives of the Cambodian and international scholarly and textiled-specialized community, of IKTT and CKS affiliated institutions and of founding institutions, will attend the seminar.

Your presence in this important seminar would be greatly appreciated and we hope that you will participate fully in its discussion sections.

The seminar program is attached.

Registration fee is set at US$ for International guests and US$5 for International students. The fee is free for Cambodian attendants.
