Hi MAC
Thank you very much indeed for your post. On the you give there is a video introducing the Fowler exhibition which I have inserted below - to encourage people not to miss its glory!!! If you follow MAC's link it is also possible to show the video full screen which does not seem to be working via my insert

also via the YouTube option accessible from my insert - which is working

) .
This is a stunning exhibition - both for people interested in Lao/Tai weavings and for everyone ready to enjoy the glorious colour and imagery. The exhibition "FOWLER IN FOCUS: Spirits in the Loom: Religion and Design in Lao-Tai Textiles" runs from January 10–May 1, 2016.
I had heard about the exhibition via Susan Stem who helped collector/academic Professor Ellison Banks Findly to assemble her wonderful research collection but I had not followed through to access the Fowler information on-line.
There is a volume in the White Lotus series 'Studies in the Material Cultures of Southeast Asia' (No. 19) "Spirits in the Loom: Religion and Design in Lao-Tai Textiles" by Ellison Banks Findly which was published in 2014 ISBN 978-974-8434-773. The book includes contributions from Patricia Cheesman, Eric Crystal, and Peter Whittlesey. There may be a catalogue for the current Fowler exhibition - I will check it out and report back if there is - but I have previously found it difficult to access books at the Fowler which need to be sent to an international location.
MAC thanks again for your post which 'woke me up'!!!
