this message to inform the textles lovers that the second issue of the FITE (international extraordinary textiles festival) opens this week end in my town, Clermont Ferrand, in the center of France.
This festival is composed of an exhibition (september 2014 / march 2015) in the Bargoin Museum, and one week of different events in numerous places inthe town.
The thema of the FITE is, this year, RENAISSANCE (rebirth). The exhibition displays contemporary textiles and old and ethnic ones. Among those are several old boro textiles from Japon, ragrugs, ethnic costumes using pieces of used texiles (EGUNGUN dance costume for ex). I have borowed some pieces of my collection for this exhibition.
