I have received information of a lecture on Mughal textiles which may be of interest to any forum members in London on 10 Nov 2011:

The annual Benjamin Zucker Lecture on Mughal Art

Rosemary Crill
Senior Curator in the Asian Department at the V&A will present the eighteenth Benjamin Zucker Lecture on Mughal Art

The Stuff of Royalty: textiles at the Mughal court
Textiles played many roles in Mughal India, from furnishing and dress to markers of status and barometers of international relationships. This lecture explores the legacy of textiles used by the Mughals’ predecessors as well as the development of key techniques and designs at the Mughal court from the 16th to the 18th centuries.

19.00 Thursday 10 November 2011, The Lydia and Manfred Gorvy Lecture Theatre, Victoria and Albert Museum

No ticket required Admission free
