This is a very handy resource

However, the user must be aware that the sections are not consistently organized according to set protocols. To give a few examples:

The section on Europe is arranged by country alphabetically.

After that follows Africa with Australia, Brunei and New Zealand listed -- just as the countries of Africa -- at the end of that section. The continent divisions are not maintained as the prime organizer of the list.

The national divisions within North America are not listed alphabetically, but with the United States first and all the divisions according to states (this is the only country with sub-divisions). This is followed by Canada, with the divisions not organized by province. Mexico is listed as Central America although it is officially North America.

And so on. So the Search tool is useful when looking something up because the protocols: continent, counry and sub-divisions, and alphabetical order are not consistent organizers.

Yes, I agree with Sandra on the list's idiosyncrasies of order. I also found omissions in countries where I had some knowledge - Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand...

Still, a useful starting point...

Indeed there are a number of noteworthy omissions. Although not accounting for the idiosyncracies of order this list was compiled from books held in the Arthur D Jenkins Library of the Textile Museum. In doing so it reflects the resources available within the library at the time.
Perhaps with the extra knowledge of forum members this can be expanded on the tribaltextiles.info website as an ongoing project....?
