For anyone fortunate enough to be able to get to Oxford on Wednesday 16 September 2009 Friends of Pitt Rivers lecture THE HANDLOOM WEAVING INDUSTRY IN NORTHERN BURMA: Interviews with Kachin women about Markets, Machines and Men by Mandy Sadan, Lecturer in the History of South East Asia, School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS). Friends lectures are held in the lecture theatre in the new Pitt Rivers Museum extension. Entry is in Robinson Close, off South Parks Road. There's no parking, except disabled parking, at the museum. Refreshments are served from 17.45pm, lectures commence 18.15. Visitors are always welcome but are asked to make a £2 contribution towards costs. See http://www.prm.ox.ac.uk/friendsevents.html
