I just stumbled across this website for the Textile Museum at Naresuan University, here in Thailand: and thought it might be helpful for anyone interested in the various textiles of Thailand. On the colored bar across the top of the homepage there are two especially interesting sections:
1. "Information on Thai textiles" - this includes topic pages such as "The evolution of textiles", "Thai textiles of different eras", "The importance of textile fabrics", and others
2. "Fabrics of the Lower Northern Region" - this includes a map with linked pages for each region; especially useful if planning a textile tour of Thailand

I happened to visit this museum, which is located on the outskirts of Phitsanulok, back in June and unfortunately found it disappointing. It did have a good exhibit, in one room, of Tai Khang/Lao Khrang textiles, but most of the large building was being used as retail space for new products made of handwoven cloth- hardly what one thinks of as a museum! The website does help make up for this.
