I have received information on the "THE HAPPY PEOPLE: Costumes & Photographs of the Minority People of South West China" exhibit from 8th September - 20th October 2007 at the Grand Bradley galley in Bristol, UK. See ... ns/hp.html

The publicity states that:
'this exhibition will feature unique costumes, artefacts and photographs of Miao minorities of south-west China collected over a period of ten years by textile artists Sally Sparks and Viv Young.

Their research and artistic responses to the collection will also be on view, and a limited number of items will be for sale.

The exhibition will be of immense interest to anyone with an interest in design, textiles, fashion, social history and geography and is the first of its kind in the West of England for thirteen years.

Showing concurrently in the gallery will be an exhibition of paintings by Annie Morries, botanical entry.

Free Entry. Opening hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-4pm'
