I thought I would show this coffin cover that allegedly is from the Tai Hun in Laos. I was struck by the similarity of this piece to the Burmese piece submitted by Renzo origibnally described as a Longhi. I thought that one of us was wrong about the origen of our pieces, until at the bottom of the thread Renzo's piece was attributed to the Shan of Northern Burma, which was another group from the Tai diaspora. Maybe Sandi has a contribution.

Thought I must just that I very much like this textile. It is very graphic.

You could both be right about longyi and coffin cover in that a length of weaving may be used for either. Your piece as put together is rather long for a longyi. I don't know anything about the Tai Hun but, if this is one of their textiles, I would like to know more.

Can you please give the measurements of the textile?

all the best,
