I don't think that there are any special tools for shibori. Thread - preferrably dye resistant and needles would be used for the resist stitching then the fabric would be dyed. Originally this would have been in indigo but it could be in any dye colour.

Hi Pam,
acutally there are some simple tools, but the place I found ships them for $ 18. the tools actually only cost about $ 16.50.

Looking for a US source, with cheaper shipping.

Since there are many different kinds of shibori (board clamping, stitching, thread wrapping, pole wrapping, etc.) I suggest you should be more specific about precisely what tools you want, or provide links to those tools you want and ask for other sources for them.
