Bonjour à tous

Again, I need some help for identifying some clothes from my collection.
There are :
a long cloth (4.40mx0.5) made of indigo dyed weaving with crosstich embroidery and appliqué bands
a tunic made of the same materials, except embroideries. My hypothesis for those two pieces is Hmong origin.

one ikat piece with bright coloured lateral bands

two bands of warp faced weaving with supplementary weft decoration (2mx0.3).

Louis, Ikat 01 looks like a kain kebat skirt from the Iban of Sarawak but can't be sure from only a close-up. What size is it? Give us a photo of the whole cloth and more information.

Best regards

Louis, Woven band 01 looks like it might be a panel for a Thai skirt.

Best regards

Louis, Yes, this is a kain kebat skirt from the Iban of Borneo.

The 'vest' /jacket that you have here listed (two images - a large view and then the detail of the applique) is a 'made-up' modern version utilising old skirt panels with later applique to make the whole thing seem genuine. Unfortunately not a Miao or ethnic minority piece.

Louis- MAC is close on the woven bands- they are Lao-Tai hembands. Check out Patricia Cheesman's seminal work on the Lao-Tai for more information on textiles mainly from Laos, but also in Vietnam.
