An indication of how the colour of this Ge Jia baby carrier differs from more recent ones. A panel from the bottom of a woman's jacket purchased in Ma Tang village, Kaili city in 2001 and probably late 20th century is placed on top of 2 earlier babycarriers - the one in the large photo above is to the right. This is the oldest baby carrier, which is probably third quarter of the 20th Century and also collected in Ma Tang village. The textile to the left is shown in the thumbnail to the left in the row immediately above.
